Government has changed the law so most renters have a 6 month notice period

These changes can be found here: (https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-has-changed-the-law-so-most-renters-have-a-6-month-notice-period) and new regulations (https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/914/introduction/made

As of 29 August 2020, landlords must, in most cases, provide a minimum of 6 months’ notice before seeking possession through the courts. This includes section 21 evictions and rent arrears under 6 months. To accommodate this change, the government has extended the validity of a section 21 notice from 6 to 10 months. Notices served on, and before 28 August 2020 are not affected by these changes and must be at least 3 months.
